In Spring 2021, we connected on Hinge, the dating app. Unbeknownst to Chris, Cristina is horrible at responding to texts, so he double and triple texted her until she finally agreed to a first date. Also unbeknownst to Chris, Cristina loves hitting curbs and getting flat tires, so the day of their first date she NOT shockingly got a flat tire and had to reschedule. As the prince charming that Chris is, he offered to help with her with the tire and pick her up for the date, but instead we waited until a random Tuesday to meet. We played arcade games and tried to win at trivia, but despite losing, we both left feeling like we'd won!

On July 4th weekend, the anniversary of our first vacation, we went back to our old favorite camping grounds and state park. We got lost TWICE trying to find the same mountain peak where we had gone on our first adventure. After we hiked an extra 5 miles with Cristina hangry and confused, and with Chris anxiously hiding champagne and snacks in a backpack with a diamond ring, we finally found the right trail. At the top of the mountain, Chris got down on one knee! Of course I said "YES!" but I couldn't help but first scream, "It's so shiny!" We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you!
