We went on our first date at Cafe Vida in Culver City. James was late to the date because he lost his wallet just prior to leaving his apartment. Despite the initial awkwardness and doubt (who loses a wallet under his own bed??), the misstep became an ice breaker leading to a fun night out. This was the start to a long list of adventurous dates that summer including beach time in Venice, stand up paddle boarding in Marina Del Ray, the OC fair, and Kathryn's first country music festival the Coastal Country Jam.

James took Kathryn and the Kula dog to Avila Beach for a sunset walk during low tide. James surprised Kathryn by dropping down on one knee in front of their favorite cliff side.
