We're Getting Married!

Becky & Oz met the old fashioned way— in a bar through a mutual friend (hi, Jill!)— but this was not your run-of-the-mill matchmaker pairing. In fact, they had no idea they were going to meet that night in March 2015.

The real story begins with a stolen Jack & Coke. Oz had just returned from Afghanistan where he spent over 9 months serving his country, and Becky had the nerve to steal his drink— Crazy? Yes. Romantic? Definitely not. But it was just unbelievable enough to catch his attention. After they got to know each other, they hit it off instantly and have been inseparable ever since. Their love has logged many miles— Oz taking the 3 hour trek from Fort Hood to Dallas when they first started dating, moves from Dallas to Fort Worth and then back to Dallas, and of course the many road trips to Austin or St. Louis. Whenever they’re not driving somewhere with their two dogs, Evie & Charlie, in tow, the pair loves to travel to see friends and family in California, or fly to Mexico for a beach vacation.

Oz proposed to Becky on their hotel balcony overlooking the beach and ocean in Cancun, Mexico when the pair were vacationing for Becky’s birthday. According to Oz, this was his back-up-plan proposal after his first attempt got interrupted (it’s a crazy story, be sure to ask). The couple announced their engagement on May 1st, 2021.
