FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our wedding is a formal event. We encourage guests to dress in cocktail attire. Please note that the ceremony will take place in a Catholic church, so we kindly ask that you dress respectfully.

Question

What should I expect during the Catholic wedding mass?

Answer

A Catholic wedding mass includes several parts: the Liturgy of the Word (readings from the Bible and a homily), the Rite of Marriage (exchange of vows and rings), the Liturgy of the Eucharist (Communion), and the Final Blessing. The entire ceremony will last about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes.

Question

When should we arrive for the wedding ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive 15 to 20 minutes ahead of the start time of the mass. We wish to remain on schedule and will start the services even if you are running late. Please wait at the back of the church until the opening prayers and procession have completed if you are not seated before we start.

Question

Are there any specific prayers I need to know?

Answer

The main prayers and responses will be provided in the program you will receive when you enter the church. Feel free to follow along.

Question

Is there anything I should or shouldn’t do during the mass?

Answer

Respectful Behavior: Please be respectful and attentive during the mass. Sit, Stand, and Kneel: Follow the congregation when it comes to sitting, standing, and kneeling. If you are unable or unsure, it is perfectly acceptable to remain seated. Quiet During Prayer: Remain quiet during prayers and moments of silence. Cell Phones: Please turn off or silence your cell phones during the ceremony. Photos: There will be a professional photographer capturing the ceremony, so we kindly ask that you refrain from taking photos during the mass.

Question

Can I participate in the Communion if I’m not Catholic?

Answer

In the Catholic tradition, Holy Communion is reserved for those who are in full communion with the Church. If you are not Catholic or if you do not feel prepared to receive Communion, you are welcome to come forward for a blessing instead. Simply cross your arms over your chest when you approach the priest.

Question

Is there parking available at the church and the reception venue?

Answer

Yes, there is ample parking available at both the church and the country club. Free valet parking will be available at the country club.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be held indoors at the church. The reception will be held indoors at the country club, with some outdoor spaces available for guests to enjoy.

Question

Will there be food and drinks at the reception?

Answer

Yes, there will be a full dinner, including appetizers, main courses, and desserts. There will also be a bar with a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Question

Will there be dancing?

Answer

Absolutely! We have a DJ, and there will be plenty of dancing. ( Can you believe it, Gus dancing?!...)

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer
