It was the summer of 2019. Kiera had just moved to Pullman, WA to study at WSU. Gustavo was living in Pullman, WA for 8 months and attending a Christian college group called CCF. On August 28th, CCF hosted an event at Boyer Park by Snake River in Colfax, WA where they took the college students to spend the day at the river boating and other fun activities. Kiera was invited to CCF river day by Ruth, who was also her bible study leader in Rogers hall on campus. Carl’s last boat ride for the day was the one where Gustavo and Kiera met. Not much love was happening on the boat but after boating, they started talking for a while and became friends. Their friendship grew from that day and they both started to be interested in each other. Kiera’s soccer skills had Gustavo falling in love with her while Gustavo’s prayer on Bible Study caught Kiera’s eye ;)

Gustavo and Kiera started talking at the beginning of spring 2020, after a few months of prayer he asked Kiera to be his girlfriend on June 26th, 2020 in Pullman at Sunnyside Park. Jump a year and a half later, Gustavo got down on one knee and asked Kiera to marry him while walking through Tubbs Hill in Coeur d’Alene on February 5th, 2022.
