HOW TO: Manila to Borocay

Manila is the capital city of the Philippines, the wedding will be in Borocay. You can either get a flight to Caticlan or Kalibo from Manila, flights from Manila to either of these destinations one way is about 15-30 GBP. OPTION 1: MANILA TO CATICLAN FLIGHT : Air Asia, Cebu Pacific and Philippines Airlines offer flights from Manila to Caticlan, with AirAsia and Cebu Pacific usually being a bit cheaper. One way tickets are usually about 20-35 GBP. Flights depart from Terminal 2 or 4 from Manila airport. Flights take just over an hour. 2) From Caticlan airport, you will need to head to the jetty port and catch a boat to boraocy, you can get a tricycle there which will be 1-2 GBP, or you can opt for a more shared minivan to take you there. The drive will take about 15 minutes. 3) Once you get to the port, buy your ferry tickets and pay the port and environmental fee, this should cost around 6 pound in total. 4) You arrive in Borocay and can get a tricycle to your hotel. (Should take less than 2.5 hours from leaving Manila airport) OPTION 2: MANILA to KALIBO FLIGHT: Air asia and cebu pacific offer cheaper flights from Manila to Kalibo, can be ranging from 15-20 GBP, takes just over an hour but do not operate multiple times a day like Manila to Caticlan. Once you arrive at Kalibo airport you will need to get into a shared minivan or a bus for 1.5 hours to reach Caticlan Port. I would recommend a bus as it will likely not be as cramped (usually around 5 GBP) with departure every hour. If you go for the minivan, it is cheaper for a seat (2.50 GBP) but can be cramped if you are bringing lots of luggage, vans leave once they are full. Please follow number 3 and 4 from above

As we are tying the knot at this venue, we have also been told that we are able to have discounted guest rooms for those attending the wedding. Usually a double room would be 450 a night, but it is discounted to 300 a night. Two nights would need to be booked to get this deal. Message from Shangri-la reservation team: As for the booking of rooms, your guests may book directly with our Reservations team at reservations.slbo@shangri-la.com starting March 16, 2025. Upon emailing our reservations team, they may indicate these initial details so they can be counted under your wedding block and avail the special wedding rates: Wedding Name: Gill - Williams Wedding Stay Dates: Name/s of Guest/s occupying the room: Our reservations team will be assisting them thoroughly once they receive the email. This process is also highly encouraged as our reservations team can also assist them with the specified requirements that’s needed upon entering Boracay. Just a gentle reminder to please advise your guests not to book thru travel agencies and other online booking sites as it will not be counted under your room requirements. If you do decide to stay here, then the night before the wedding and the night of the wedding would make the most sense. Check in on the 8th and check out on the 10th.
