Are there other events planned outside of the Welcome Event and Anniversary Party?

Answer

One of our favorite parts about Antigua is that there's so much to explore by just walking around! We want you to use this trip as part personal vacation and part destination party! That said, we plan to go hiking one morning (an easy hike, we promise!), rent ATVs, go on a coffee tour, and venture out to Antigua Brewing Company (to name a few things!) You're more than welcome to join us or do your own thing! We'll send updates as we get closer to the weekend!

How's the weather?

Answer

May is a part of Antigua's rainy season. But don't fret! We'll have provisions for our events if it rains. Pack a parka or rain jacket just in case. Other than the rain, the weather is perfect!

What was that sweet hike we did in Guatemala back in June 2021...?

Answer

We hiked Volcano Acatenango! It was insane! The hike itself is usually done over the span of two days. Because we went for a friend's wedding, we packed it all in to one crazy, intense day. If you search the hike on AllTrails you'll see comment after comment about how challenging this hike is. If you plan to do it... be prepared! We trained for months leading up to it! Reach out to us if you have any questions.

Are there other easier hikes?

Answer

Yes! We plan to hike Volcano Pacaya which is just outside of Antigua. It's an easy hike that should only take 3-4 hours. It requires a local guide. We'll send more info on this soon so if you're wanting to hike it with us, we can all go together!

Where should we stay?

Answer

Pensativo is a stunning hotel. It's where our Welcome Event is and the vibe there is on point. We are personally staying at Porta House. It's a larger hotel just next door with a pool and spa. There are other options in the city, too! We chose Porta and Pensativo for our room blocks because they are within walking distance to our venues, which was super important to us!

When should we arrive/leave?

Answer

We think Thursday to Sunday or Friday to Monday would make for a great trip! But do you, boo. There's non stop flights from DFW to Guatemala City so be sure and snag one of those!

Are kids allowed?

Answer

Hey. We love and adore your children. We really do! But we prefer for this to be an adults only kinda thing ;) Use it as an excuse to getaway with your significant other to a beautiful country you probably wouldn't visit otherwise! Ha!

Is the couple registered anywhere or expecting gifts?

Answer

NOOO!!!! This is a 5 year anniversary party just for the sake of having fun with family and friends! Please do not feel obligated in any way to get us any sort of gift. We are just thrilled to have an amazing time with the people we cherish so much!
