Shoes & Head Coverings: Please remove your shoes before entering the area of the wedding ceremony. A head covering is also required—scarves and bandanas work well, and clean ones are available at the entrance. Seating During the Ceremony: Guests will be seated on the floor. Most people sit cross-legged. As a sign of respect, please avoid pointing your feet toward the Guru Granth Sahib (the Sikh holy scripture). No Alcohol: Please avoid consuming alcohol before or during the ceremony.
Indian or Western formal attire is welcome. Since the wedding is a Sikh ceremony we kindly ask that guests dress modestly. Guests will be seated on the floor during the ceremony, so we recommend wearing pants or long dresses for comfort. You'll also need to remove your shoes and cover your head while inside the temple. Feel free to bring a scarf or bandana for your head covering—head coverings will also be available at the temple. Slip-on shoes are a good idea for ease.
