We recommend flying into Paris a couple of days early to enjoy the city and adjust to the time zone. The wedding weekend begins on Friday, May 29, 2026, so aim to arrive in Paris by May 27 or earlier.
We have accommodations set up at the venue where guests will have a room provided. If you plan on staying in Paris before heading to the venue, we recommend staying in the Montparnasse area which is where the train station is.
We ask no kids or plus ones. While we’d love to celebrate with everyone, space is limited and we are keeping things intimate. Thank you for understanding!
Late May in France is typically mild and pleasant, with highs in the 60s–70s°F (15–24°C). Pack a light layer just in case.
Most newer phones work abroad with an international plan. Check with your provider before you travel. Wi-Fi is also available at the venue.
The ceremony and reception will be held outdoors (weather permitting), on grass and stone pathways. We suggest black tie attire for the ceremony, with layers in case the evening gets cool.
Yes! Your food and drinks are covered during your stay at the venue.
France uses Type C and Type E plugs with a standard voltage of 230V and frequency of 50Hz. If you’re traveling from outside Europe, you may need a plug adapter and possibly a voltage converter for your devices.
Yes, there will be outlets available at the château for charging phones, cameras, and other devices. We recommend bringing your own adapter to ensure compatibility.
The château provides basic blow dryers in the rooms. Steamers and iron boards will also be available on-site.
We recommend taking an Uber or taxi from the airport to Montparnasse for the most direct and stress-free option. While public transportation is available, there’s no direct route, and it typically involves multiple train and bus transfers, which can be tricky after a long flight—especially with luggage.
We’ve used the Rail Europe app to book our train tickets, and recommend it for a quick and easy experience. You’ll be traveling from Paris Montparnasse to Redon. (Round trip) To make the journey more fun (and easier to coordinate), we suggest booking in small groups so you can sit together in the same train car. We’ll share the specific train time we’re taking as the wedding approaches, so anyone who’d like to travel together can book the same one!
We secured a shuttle service to transport guests between the Redon train station and Château du Val for arrivals and departures. The shuttle only arrives and departs once, so we will need to coordinate train times. We’ll share confirmed details and schedules closer to the date to help you plan accordingly.
Paris is very walkable, and in the past we've simply walked from our hotel to Gare Montparnasse. If you're staying nearby, this can be a great option—just give yourself plenty of time and comfy shoes! If you’re traveling with luggage or prefer a more convenient option, you can also easily book an Uber to the station.
We recommend using the Rail Europe app or the SNCF Connect website to book your tickets in advance. Your journey will be from Paris Montparnasse to Redon. Arrive at the station at least 30–45 minutes early. Check the departure boards for your train number and platform (voie). Tickets will show a carriage number and seat assignment. Validate your ticket if it’s paper (machines near platforms), or just have your mobile ticket ready for scanning. Luggage storage is self-service: just bring it onboard and stow it above your seat or at the end of the carriage. 📱 Apps That Help Rail Europe (we recommend) or SNCF Connect Google Maps or Citymapper to navigate stations and metro connections If you’re new to train travel in Europe, don’t worry—stations are well-marked, and there’s often staff available to help. We’re also happy to answer questions or help coordinate closer to the date!
Château du Val is more than just a stunning backdrop for our wedding—it’s a place to relax, play, and enjoy the beautiful French countryside with friends and family. Here’s what you can look forward to during the weekend: Take a dip in the pool — perfect for a refreshing break between celebrations. Challenge someone to a match on the tennis court — whether you’re a pro or just having fun, all skill levels are welcome! Play giant yard games — we’ll have plenty of classics like cornhole, giant Jenga, ring toss, Connect 4, Mölkky, and trapdoor set up for friendly competition and lots of laughs. Whether you want to relax poolside or get active with games, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!
To make check-in as smooth as possible, we will have assigned rooms upon arrival. Château du Val’s unique layout means this system helps us ensure everyone is comfortably accommodated and everything runs smoothly. Please note: Some guests will be sharing bathroom facilities, including showers and toilets. The main château will house the couple and family. Most rooms here have their own showers, but some guests may share toilets located in the hallways. The lodge and cottage will accommodate friends and family. Some rooms in these areas have shared bathrooms with other guests. We appreciate your understanding and hope you enjoy the charm and character of this beautiful venue!
Yes, tap water is perfectly safe to drink in Paris, and you'll also find public water fountains throughout the city to refill your bottle as you explore. At Château du Val, the tap water may not be potable in certain areas of the property, depending on where you're staying. To be safe, we’ll be providing water jugs and bottled water in guest rooms for your convenience throughout the weekend.
As we’ll be providing meals throughout the weekend, please let us know if you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions we should be aware of. We want to ensure everyone enjoys their meals comfortably and safely. If you have specific preferences (e.g., vegetarian, gluten-free), please feel free to mention those as well!
