Baraat

3:30 pm

The baraat is the festive, music & dance-filled stroll to the ceremony cite. Niloy's groomsmen hype him up and both the groom's and bride's guests enjoy the beat of the "dhol" as well as all the other sounds, colors, and emotions that flood the kick off to the wedding day!

Anand Karaj

4:00 pm

South Asian or Western Formal

After the baraat, the guests are now at the ceremony cite and will get situated for the Anand Karaj. Guests will need to remove their shoes and cover their heads for the Sikh wedding ceremony. A space will be provided to place your shoes. Please bring a cloth, shawl, etc., to cover your head. If you forget one, we'll have a few head coverings there. It is custom to sit on the ground during the ceremony, but chairs will be provided to the elderly and those seeking accommodations for any reason, no questions asked. This will be outside, weather permitting, so dress accordingly!

Chai and samosas

5:00 pm

Following the Anand Karaj, guests will head into Hudson House for a half hour of chai and samosas while the staff get the open bar ready for cocktail hour! Starting now, the rest of the festivities take place indoors.

Cocktails, dinner, toasts, dancing!

5:45 pm

Cocktail hour followed by seated dinner + reception! There will be succinct and heartfelt toasts. There will be bombastic dances. There will be delicious food for everyone of all dietary persuasions to enjoy!
