Aeropuerto Internacional del Bajío BJX

Airport BJX is located approximately 20-30 minutes from the city center. Volaris Airlines is currently the only airline that offers direct flights from Chicago, but there are many other airlines that offer flights with layovers. Christmas is peak season for traveling so we recommend to book flights as soon as possible. We will try to monitor flight deals to assist everyone as much as possible :) Flights from the US can range anywhere from $500 to $1000 round trip per person.

While Guanajuato offers Uber services. We recommend Taxi’s as a more reliable and safer option. A taxi can be picked up at the airport’s Taxi booth, immediately exiting the airport’s security doors. The current cost from the Airport to Guanajuato's city center is approximately $620 MXN pesos($36USD).

Mexico's Currency is the Mexican Peso. $1 USD = ~ 17 MXN Pesos We recommend to exchange some money to have cash on hand for delicious street snacks/food, souvenirs, etc! However, most places will accept US credit cards, it is recommended to check with your bank on foreign transaction fees.
