It was the early hours of July 4th, after an overnight drive from Philly to Bar Harbor and a desperate three hours of sleep. They were up and hiking in the dark by 4am, chasing the sunrise together to the top of Cadillac Mountain, the first place the sun kisses the US. What she didn't know was the secret he packed away for when they reached the top. As they finished their climb the sky began to glow, he tricked her into facing the sunrise to "setup a time-lapse" of the morning sky. She had no idea that behind her he was arranging painted rocks, a tripod, and holding a Taylor-Swift-Style paper engagement ring, which he secretly carried with him at the bottom of their bag the entire way up. He asked her to turn around as he finishing laying out the "marry me?" lettered on the stones, and held the ring out while down on one knee. Full of warmth and excitement she didn’t wait for the question, she shouted YES before he could say a word, fulfilling a lifelong dream of her's to get engaged on the top of a mountain. They laughed, she cried, and he held her close, telling her how deeply he loved her and that he never wanted her to wonder if he was in it forever. And as the very first sunlight of the day touched the mountain, it marked the start of their forever... bright, joyful, and worth every step of the climb, with many many more to come. We invite you all to be part of the next ones with us at our wedding day.
