How We Met

Billy and I were actually acquaintances long before we started dating. We met at one of our friend Brenda's many bonfires back in our college days, but rarely spoke. Years later, we reconnected on Facebook, and I told him to take me out for a drink sometime. Surprisingly, it worked! Drinks turned into coffee, which turned into random movie dates, which turned into spending a whole lot of time together. We've spent an amazing 5 years together, and can't wait to begin married life!

The Proposal

On December 29th, 2017 (our 4 year dating anniversary) Billy decided we should recreate our first "official date" of dinner and a movie at our favorite theater in Rosemont. We spent some time wandering around the mall, had a delicious dinner, and saw Jumanji (great movie!) I was convinced that he had just come up with this idea at the last minute, since I had been asking him for a week what he wanted to do for our anniversary and got no response. It was late when the movie got out, but he was adamant that we take a walk around the (closed) skating rink. I was freezing, but begrudgingly agreed. All of the lights and decorations were still set up from Christmas, including a giant ornament shaped igloo covered in lights. We stopped there to admire the sights when he finally popped the question. I have to admit I knew it was coming, but was shocked that he actually had the entire night planned from the start. It was a completely magical evening.
