Mitchell and Heather met through their mutual friend Gabbie at a concert at Red Rocks. They met at the end of the summer and just a few weeks later Mitchell would be returning to Kansas where he attended KU. They tried to do a long distance relationship for almost a year, but it just wasn’t the right time in either of their lives for that to actually work out. We’d always talk about how if it was meant to be, we would find our way back into each other’s lives. Fast forward to December 2020 where Heather may have had a few too many tequila shots, texted Mitchell and well, from there, the rest is history 🥰

It was a typical New Years Eve in Heather’s life; she was closing manager at the steakhouse she worked at and was excited to come home knowing her house was full of some of her favorite people to ring in the new year with. She got home from work, went and changed into a very “Heather outfit,” which consisted of a T-shirt, joggers and her favorite white crocs; little did she know this would be the outfit she got proposed to in. She came downstairs, opened a twisted tea and started mingling with her boyfriend and friends. A little while later, Mitchell put on one of Heather’s favorite songs, “Neon Moon” by Brooks and Dunn. He grabbed her hand and asked her to dance. Mitchell found the perfect moment as Heather sang the words, in her not so beautiful voice, and was being spun around the dining room, next thing she knew she turned around and there he was, Mitchell was on one knee. He had the perfect speech prepared and asked Heather to marry him. Heather proceeded to lose her mind & stomp around the living room (all in a good way) while saying “are you f**king serious?!” After a few minutes of this “fit,” she got the ring on her finger and jumped into Mitchell’s arms. We are still unsure if she ever even said “yes!”
