After matching on Tinder, Guillaume messaged Emma first. Emma swears that she remembers seeing Guillaume in her matches and was trying to work up the courage to message him. He beat her to it. "Hey you! How's it going?" led to a lunch date at Big Rig Brewery. We were both incredibly nervous - too nervous to eat or drink anything! We ordered fries and sodas (at a brewery mind you) and didn't touch them. We just chatted about everything and anything, breaking down our nerves and quickly gaining comfortability. It was easy; it felt natural. Guillaume suggested we walk over to IKEA and have a little tour. This spontaneity was exactly what we needed in the moment and it truly gave us a chance to relax and just experience each other in person. We haven't been apart since that day in July 2022.

Sunday October 13, 2024 - Guillaume had a plan and it was always going to happen on this day. Emma knew it was coming soon but had no idea as to when. She would've put on the fact that it was going to happen the weekend before this one! The morning was crisp and clear; we geared up and headed out for the trails around the neighbourhood. Guillaume knew Emma had been wanting to take pictures on the trails and he used that to distract her while trying to find the perfect spot. Emma was focused on the task of enjoying the forest and taking cute photos and was completely oblivious to the plan she was executing. We came to a little clearing off the trail. Without Emma noticing, Guillaume got down on one knee and she turned around to see him. The moment was a complete surprise and absolutely perfect!
