Hello, Emily here! We are ecstatic about our upcoming wedding celebration and cannot wait to see all of our friends and family in one place!
Kevin and I met briefly while attending Frenship High School (Go TIgers!), but reconnected after college through mutual friends. I could tell Kevin was interested in me when he started inviting me to attend church with him regularly. He would invited me to family dinners and take me to his favorite coffee shop, Gatsby's. It didn't take me long to realize this was something I wanted as well, and we started dating in November of 2015.
Faith, Diana (our angelic pit bull mix, and the best dog ever- do not argue with me on this one), humor, trivia, pop culture, travel, compassion, creativity, and joy are a few words I would use to describe our relationship. We both enjoy learning and experiencing new things together. In our four years together, we've traveled to Colorado, Oregon, Seattle, New York, and all over Texas. In our near future, we hope to do more traveling and we are eager to learn more about each other as we write this new chapter.
Preface: Kevin used to live down the block from the school where I teach. I would occasionally leave work and go let the dog out at his house during the school day. One spring day, I stopped by his house to let the dog out, and the doorbell rang. I answered it, signed for the package, and came back inside. When I looked at the shipping label I almost LOST IT. I WAS HOLDING MY ENGAGEMENT RING IN MY HAND. I tried to keep it a secret, but Kevin knew within the hour. Oops! Knowing he had the ring, and knowing we were about to travel to NYC, I was under the impression that he would propose on our trip. Kevin caught wind of this, and decided he would catch me off guard by proposing days before our trip! My roommate Jennifer, created a (fake) birthday dinner for herself at a local Italian restaurant. We were going to ride together, and Kevin called while we were on the way to the restaurant and said his car wasn't working (if you've seen Kevin's car, you know this is not a far fetched scenario), and asked if we could come pick him up. So Jenn and I swung by his house to get him, but he wouldn't answer his phone. I called at least 4 times. So, I went into the house to try and find him. He was dressed up and told me there was something in the backyard I needed to see. Walking into the backyard, i was completely caught offguard. He had set up a table with candles and a letter he wrote, and had a photographer taking pictures. He read me a letter, popped the question, I was so shocked I forgot to say yes, I finally said yes, and he was so shocked he forgot to put on the ring. We spent some time together- just the two of us, and then Kevin drove me to our friend's house, where all of our friends and family were waiting to celebrate with us. It was my favorite night with Kevin and I will cherish it forever. We're looking forward to celebrating our next big night with all of you!
