Gianna and Gage first crossed paths in 2019 while vacationing with their families in Islamorada. At the time, they barely exchanged a word. A year and a half later, they unexpectedly ended up at the same 4th of July BBQ, where they got to talking during the greatest icebreaker of all: a game of Beer Pong. At the end of the night, Gage invited Gianna to join him and a couple others to Johnny Mac’s, but as luck would have it, they were the only two who ended up walking in for a few drinks. After a few days and some playful banter—Gianna’s infamous “RBF” and Gage’s then-missing front teeth being the hot topics of discussion—Gage asked her out. They met at The Columns, now with all teeth accounted for, for their first official date.

They took a road trip back to Islamorada, this time with plenty to say to each other. Then, on the beach where they first met almost five years prior, Gage got down on one knee and asked Gianna to marry him. Fun fact: Gage had set up a Go-Pro to capture the moment, but it overheated and stopped working just as he was getting down on one knee. The full proposal would have been recorded if Gianna hadn't stopped to pet a baby lizard on the walk down to the beach, unknowingly delaying her own engagement.
