Should I rent a car?

Answer

Unless you're planning a longer trip and would like to check out Tybee Island or Hilton Head, don't bother renting a car. If you’re just staying in Savannah for a few days, you shouldn't need a car the entire weekend. An Uber or Taxi from Savannah/Hilton Head Airport to your Downtown Savannah hotel will be ~$20. Once you're downtown, everything is walkable. Plus, we’re providing transportation to and from the wedding on Sunday! The venue is 7 miles from downtown. Keep in mind that if you decide to rent a car, you will likely need to pay for parking downtown. Save yourself the hassle and money :)

Where should I stay?

Answer

We suggest that you stay in the area we've noted in the map above, or the Travel section of our website. This is our personal favorite area of Savannah, as well as where most of our "THINGS TO DO's" are located. We encourage you to venture out to other areas too, and don't forget to check out the Riverfront! Savannah is a very walkable city, so bring comfortable shoes and track those steps.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony starts at 4pm, and The Mackey House is 7 miles from downtown Savannah. Our trolley service will be departing at 3:20pm to allow 20 mins to get there, and give you some time to enjoy a beverage as you find your seat!

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes! This is a family friendly event! Please just be sure to RSVP with kids included so that we have a proper headcount.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there's ample free parking on site at The Mackey House. But if you take our trolley service, you don't need to worry about driving there or back. We highly recommend this so you can truly enjoy yourself :)
