With happy hearts and joyful souls, Chris and Taylor took their love to beautiful Big Sur and exchanged vows on September 20th, 2021. The ceremony took place cliffside at China Lookout and was performed by Taylor's father, Brendan. The couple's mothers, Janet and Kimberly, were also present. Happy tears were shed by all! Chris and Taylor kept their ceremony simple, balancing natural beauty and minimalism to not outshine the beauty of the location. After the ceremony, the newlyweds spent time alone on the beach to soak it all in. They enjoyed a champagne toast and stuck around until the sun set. It was truly a magical day. As much as Chris and Taylor absolutely love their friends and family, they realized that their union should, and will be, first and foremost about them and their love story. It was so meaningful for them to have an intimate ceremony where they could truly focus on the commitment they are making to each other. Although the couple decided to celebrate their love with an intimate and private ceremony, please know that on this special day you were in their thoughts and hearts. Your love and support mean the world to the newlyweds!
Chris and Taylor planned on spending a romantic week in Napa and Sonoma in late September 2020. Unfortunately this was during the California wildfires. They tracked the fires and air quality to make sure it was safe as the trip was rapidly approaching. Everything seemed great, but once their plane landed in San Francisco, they had several voicemails from wineries cancelling reservations due to smoke - a large fire had started overnight right before the flight. Chris and Taylor spent one day in Sonoma then had to cancel the remainder of their wine country trip. By this point, any suspicions of a proposal went out the window for Taylor. *Taylor later found out that Chris originally planned on proposing at Castello di Amorosa in Napa Valley, then had to cancel because the castle burned. So without any agenda, they took the rental car and drove down the coast, ended up in Monterey Bay and enjoyed the remainder of their vacation, spending their last day in Carmel. Chris was adamant that Taylor wear her favorite dress and said he wanted to visit a few scenic places that day. They went on the scenic 17 Mile Drive and Taylor noticed Chris was acting a little off the entire day. She still did not expect a proposal since their plans had gone so off-course. They were at a scenic overlook at the end of the 17 Mile Drive and had asked a random woman to snap photos of them. Taylor walked away to have a conversation with someone else. While she was gone, Chris asked the woman to take more photos and whispered that he was going to propose. They took those last photos and Chris suddenly stopped and turned to Taylor with his hand in pocket. He said "Taylor, I couldn't imagine my life without you and I just couldn't wait any longer. Will you marry me?" Taylor responded with "obviously!!!". She was so excited that she yanked the ring out of the box and put it on her ring finger herself. The two had to calm themselves down in the car before finishing the rest of the drive.
