While scrolling through Facebook, Jake came across the people you may know section and the first one was on there was Sydney. Taking a shot in the dark, Jake added her to see what would happen. After finding her on Snapchat, Jake added her on there and for three weeks heard no reply. Finally at the OCA Ranch Rodeo she added him back. However they never even met each other in person that night, since Sydney gave him a look that meant don’t even try it bub. Yet, even without being introduced they finally went on their first date on September 2nd 2022 to go see Where the Crawdads Sing. Since then it’s been a whole lot of fun and memories.

On April 6, 2024 Jake decided it was time to pop the question. After a cow sale and it had been raining for half the day, he waited until the rain had finally stopped to get Sydney out to go check cows. After Jake called his dad so he could find the keys to get the ring he finally was able to drive out to the pond and pop the question with all the cows around. Of course, it was the easiest yes that Sydney could ever say!
