We met the way all great love stories begin: at work. Same school, same schedule, same lunchroom. He insists Natalie was scouting the new hires. Natalie would like that statement noted as unproven. Our first real interaction involved trivia night with Mason and Kelly, where he confidently ate Natalie’s pizza crust. A bold choice for someone who had just met her. Somehow, this did not end the night. Instead, Natalie got his number the next day and texted him an inside joke. Strong start. The following week, trivia happened again. This time just the two of us. He may have told Mason and Kelly not to come. We were the Moonshine team and we were impressively bad. So bad that we left early and went to dinner instead, which turned out to be the best decision of the night. We hung out a couple more times before what Natalie officially considers the first date at B. Matthews. From there, things were pretty much locked in. Since then, we have packed a lot into life together. Canoeing through the Okefenokee, escaping escape rooms with friends, and making it a personal mission to try new restaurants everywhere we go. Some adventures go smoother than others, but they are always better together. We have been laughing our way through life ever since. We sit together every day at lunch, coach side by side, and somehow make even the most ordinary days better just by being together. It started with stolen pizza crust and failed trivia. Now it is us, doing life together, and we would not have it any other way.
