Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes! A passport will be required to get to and from the EU. New passport expiration laws state that you must have six months of validity before you depart for any international travel. To be safe, plan ahead and make sure your passport is valid until at lease April 2026. Current processing times range from 8-11 weeks to get a new passport!

Question

What other travel essentials do I need?

Answer

We recommend purchasing an adaptor for all your electronics (you can search "European" or "Portugal" travel adaptor on Amazon), a clear bag for all toiletries as they will likely be separated for airport security checks, a swimsuit and comfortable walking shoes for your time exploring!

Question

How do I get around?

Answer

The Lisbon area is quite easy to navigate and offers several forms of public transit and ride share options (yes, even Uber!). We do highly recommend renting a car if you feel comfortable doing so, though. Our recommended hotels are a bit of a drive from the airport closer to the beaches. We will be providing transportation from the two listed hotels on our "Travel & Accommodations" page for both the welcome party and wedding. *Pro tip: download the Bolt app - this is the most commonly used ride share service in Portugal and tends to have better rates than Uber. They operate just the same - you can even jump on an e-scooter through the app if exploring downtown Lisbon!

Question

What is the wedding attire?

Answer

Garden formal - we want our guests to dress to impress! Suits and formal dresses are great. Don't be afraid to experiment with color, patterns, frills and statement silhouettes. Question

Can we bring our children?

Answer

We look forward to celebrating with you and we love your little ones! But all wedding weekend events will be adult only, so please plan accordingly.

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

Unless specified on your formal invitation, we ask that you do not bring a guest. We are hosting an intimate gathering and will only be allocating arrangements for the guests RSVP'd. Thank you for understanding!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

September in Portugal is gorgeous! We're expecting mild temps and clear skies (fingers crossed). Average daytime: high 70's-low 80's. Average nighttime: low-mid 60's. Weather permitting, our ceremony and reception will be held outdoors.
