We met in a production of South Pacific at the School Street Playhouse in June of 2019. Neither of us auditioned; we were both roped in. My friend Taylor texted me asking me to come join her in the show and be a nurse, and one of Eddie's student's parents, Joe, called Eddie asking him to come help out as well. We really connected one Saturday rehearsal when we all went over to Dairy Queen and Eddie and I kind of geeked out about a couple of different nerdy subject matters. From there, we were pretty much inseparable during show times. We got dinner together before opening night at Johnny's Pizza after he hung out with me at my job at the outlet mall for hours. We went to Six Flags for our first date shortly after the show closed. From there we did two more shows together before COVID shut down our last show. In 2020, Eddie graduated from KSU and encouraged me as I finished my student teaching through 2021. Then, theatre started opening back up and Eddie started doing shows again. Finally at the end of 2021 I got to join him again in a production of Rent. On March 6th, 2022, Eddie had told me he wanted to take me out for a "pamper Emily day". He first took me back to our Johnny's Pizza for lunch and then to our Dairy Queen for dessert. We spent some time walking around the outlet mall, just like we used to while I was in college, and then he took me back to the School Street Playhouse where he asked me to marry him. It was the most perfect end to the most perfect day and I'm so grateful to have met my sweet Eddie in a random production that we both got roped into!
