Maymont
Maymont is a 100-acre (0.156 sq mi) Victorian estate and public park in Richmond, Virginia. It contains Maymont Mansion, now a historic house museum, an arboretum, formal gardens, a carriage collection, native wildlife exhibits, a nature center, and Children's Farm.
Virginia Museum of Fine Arts
Admission itself is free (except for special exhibits). It is one of the first museums in the American South to be operated by state funds. It is also one of the largest art museums in North America. VMFA ranks as one of the top ten comprehensive art museums in the United States.
Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden
Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is a 50 acres botanical garden in Richmond, Virginia's Lakeside neighborhood. It features a conservatory, library cafe and tea house restaurant. Regular daily admission is $13 for adults, $11 for seniors, $8 for children (age 3-12), under age 3 are free.
Carytown
Carytown is an urban retail district lining Cary Street at the southern end of the Museum District in Richmond, Virginia. Located near The Fan District, the district has an eclectic flavor and includes over 230 shops, restaurants, and offices. The area is also home to one of the city's institutions, the Byrd Theatre, a restored movie palace that has operated continuously since 1928.
Belle Isle
Belle Isle is a small 54-acre island in the city of Richmond, Virginia. Belle Island lies within the James River, and being owned by the city it serves as a city park. It is accessible to pedestrian and bicycle traffic via a suspension footbridge that runs under the Robert E. Lee Bridge from the northern shore or via a wooden bridge from the southern shore. Except when the water level of the James is high, it is also reachable by foot from the southern shore via easy boulder-hopping. From Belle Isle, one can see Hollywood Cemetery, the old Tredegar Iron Works, and Richmond City's skyline. Belle Isle has many bike trails around the island, and has a small cliff used for rock climbing instruction.
Short Pump Town Center
Short Pump Town Center is an open-air shopping mall located in Henrico County, Virginia on West Broad Street (U.S. Route 250), approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) west of I-64, exit 178A/B. This area of Henrico County is called The West End and is northwest of Richmond. Short Pump Town Center is home to many restaurants and stores including Macy's, Nordstrom and Dillard's.
