Brooke and JT met online through a dating app called Hinge. Despite hitting it off quickly by chatting through the app, it took a few months for Brooke and JT to meet due to conflicting schedules. When they finally went on their first date, the two stayed up all night talking with each other. As it got late, Brooke had a secret to share with JT that she had been hiding all evening. Brooke said, "I need to show you something before you see it on your own". With a confused expression, JT looked at her unsure what she would show him. Brooke continued on to say, "I got this 4 years ago with some friends" and proceeds to show him a "JT" tattooed on her ankle. Brooke explains that she got the matching tattoos with some girl friends from jiu jitsu who liked to call the group the "Jits Tits". Who would have known that Brooke was actually getting her future husband's initials tattooed on her!

Brooke and JT currently live in Kansas City, MO with their 10-year-old rottweiler, Zola, who Brooke has had since college. JT works for Meta as a Mechanical Subject Matter Expert at the KC Data Center where he is in charge of keeping the HVAC and fire protection systems in multiple buildings that total in over 1.4 million square feet. Brooke works for ME Engineers as an Electrical Project Manager where she designs the electrical systems of venues, stadiums, and arenas. Both Brooke and JT appreciate having jobs in the same industry yet having very different day-to-day roles in their jobs! Brooke and JT both have several hobbies that they enjoy doing together such as hanging out with friends, lifting weights, playing baseball on Sundays during the summer, and golfing! Lately, Brooke and JT have also been learning Japanese in preparation for their honeymoon. JT also enjoys working on home improvement projects, playing video games, and grilling/smoking meats. He definitely lives up to his last name! Brooke also helps coach her 10yr old cousin's softball team during the spring/summer and trains in Brazilian jiu jitsu 2-3 times a week. She has been doing jiu jitsu for 10 years and is currently a brown belt!
