A deaf woman, Emily, who had recently relocated to Santa Maria attended a deaf event at Blaze restaurant on February 20th, 2020. She was stunned by the number of people when she first arrived, but she couldnt help from looking at one guy who is also deaf. She took her time getting to know others before meeting the guy at the end. Her best friend questioned him about his name after she realized the man hadn’t yet introduced himself. Oh! When she saw the friends requests, she shrieked and turned to her best friend for advice. Her best friend chuckled and recommended her to accept his friend request. A short while later, he sent her a Facebook Messenger text message. She wasn’t sure what to text back as her heartbeat increased. She had begun to like him at that point. On May 22nd, 2020, Emily received an invitation to Matt’s parents home for his close friends graduation celebration. When their closest friends gathered, they learned that Matt and Emily liked one other even though they weren’t sure if they felt the same way about them. By playing truth or dare, their closest friends were able to persuade them to admit that they do like each other. They compelled them to tell the truth before daring them to share a kiss.
