We (unofficially) met in a Walmart. Yes. lol. One late night as I finished rehearsals for my play, my two friends Cody and Katelin joined me on a quick Walmart run to pick up Pedialyte. As a hater of Walmart, I jokingly told Katelin that I would only join them if they found me a cute boy. As we finished our trip and made our way to the checkout line, my eyes found a very cute boy dressed in a snuggly looking burnt orange sweater, and when Katelin saw him too she said, "That's your new boyfriend!!" to which I buried my face and prayed to the introvert gods that he didn't see me because he was CUTE. As soon as she said this, I hear Cody say, "Oh hey, Zach!" which is when I realized that my friend knows this cutie. As we walked out, I knew that I needed to meet this Zach in real life and I begged Cody to give him my number, which he did. (Thanks, Cody!!!) Thankfully, Zach didn't think I was a weirdo and we went on our first date a week later. :) And the rest is history...
It was Zach's birthday and we decided to hike the Konza for our first activity of the day. When I came out to the living room in jean shorts and a tank top Zach kindly said "Maybe you should dress up a little, since it's my birthday." Which should have been my first sign since he has never cared about what I wore, ever. I hesitated, but later agreed and put on a cute romper. As we were walking, we decided to take some pictures near this beautiful look out over the hills. I tried to set the camera up and failed many times, I told Zach "I got the camera set up but it'll only show like chest up so it'll have to do." so he ended up setting it up for full-body on a 10-second timer (which should have been my second sign because Zach has never cared about pictures before) As he runs back to where I'm standing, I pose for the picture. He then turned to me and said "surprise" as he pulled out the most beautiful ring and got down on one knee. My brain ~literally~ could not understand what was happening as I ended up saying a bunch of dumb things like "did I die?" and "is this a prank?" and eventually "do I even need to say yes? Of course!" It was the most beautiful moment ever and will always have the most special place in my heart. Zach did such an amazing job planning and surprising me. <3
Because this wedding will be happening in the middle of a pandemic, we have taken a number of precautions on our end, and would like to ask that you take a few on your end. What we have done: 1. We invited a very minimal number of friends and family, keeping our total under the recommended 50 people crowd limit. 2. We will be hosting all of the event outside, as current research shows that outdoor events are much less likely to spread the disease. 3. We will be socially distancing the reception as best we can, grouping people who have already intermingled together. 4. We will have a socially distanced standing area for the reception if sitting within a masked crowd makes you uncomfortable. 5. Providing hand sanitizer at high traffic areas. What we are asking of you: 1. We will be taking temperatures as you mingle in, please respect our decision to only let people who are not running a temperature/feeling ill attend. 2. Please wear a mask during the ceremony, as we will not be able to socially distance your seating. 3. Please utilize the provided sanitizers at high traffic areas.
