March 2023: They saw each other across the bar at Hangar Pub & Grill. Sydney recognized him from Hinge and messaged him from her archived Hinge messages from when they matched 9 months prior. Alex thought she was cute and asked her out. On April Fool's Day, they planned on going on their first date to a cocktail bar, however, Alex did not know reservations were required and the wait was almost 2 hours. Alex called an audible and they ran through a rain storm to the local dive bar, Ye Ol' Watering Hole in Northampton, MA. It was there they had the best date ever, drinking $5 ciders and playing darts. Alex asked Sydney to be his girlfriend two weeks later. March 2024: Alex gets a job at Carleton College in Minnesota. Sydney had just finished grad school and followed him out to MN to continue their love story. She questioned her judgement in this decision when they experienced their first -60 degree Fahrenheit day with windchill. March 2025: They adopted the devil in disguise - Muppet. A 7lb toy poodle that forced and manipulated her way into everyone's hearts and laps. She was the missing piece in their life in MN. They have been living happily (but not peacefully) since she joined the family. March 2026: Alex asks Sydney to marry him in Puerto Rico. It did not go as planned... But she said yes! And it is here that their March relationship milestones end, as they did not know all of their noteworthy events occurred in the month of March until writing this story. They decided their most important milestone will occur in December in Celebration, Florida with their friends and family.
