We met at a coffee shop that we were both working in at the time. After a few months of working together, getting to know each other over long hours and many cups of coffee, we realized that we really clicked, and our friendship grew stronger and stronger. Unfortunately, I had to move away from that job shortly after, but after almost a year I found myself working in another coffee shop, and Beka happened to walk in one evening that I worked. The connection was as strong as ever. I asked her out the very next day and the rest is history.
On the one year anniversary of our relationship, I took Beka to a recreation of our first date, ice skating in downtown. It had been a beautiful evening the first time, and luckily a storm had held off for us and created the perfect backdrop. With some excited family (and hidden paparazzi) at the ready, I took Beka out on the ice and waited until her back was turned, and then dropped onto my knee and pulled out the ring. She said "Yes!", and then we almost got run over by a group of teenagers. It was still perfect.
