We're Getting Married

Michael and I, have known each other for a years. We met casually through a mutual friend. Nothing ever came of our friendship until one day he had walked into my work and saw me. When he left he messaged me and said that he thought I looked beautiful and happy. Afterwards we decided to make plans to hangout and we have been attached by the hip ever since.

Let me start by saying Michael is the absolute worst at keeping secrets and trying to surprise anyone, especially me. Michael was working and had a dentist appointment in the afternoon. I wanted him to leave work for the day and not go back after his appointment but he said he had no choice but to go back to work. Needless to say I was a little bumbed. Well he gets home from work and tells me that his brother, Jody and his wife, Amanda were going to be stopping by. While waiting for them to arrive Michael starts messing with me asking what if they brought over a kitten and my eyes lit up and I got super excited for about 5.5 seconds until he said just kidding they aren't. About thirty minutes later I hear a crying kitten. I was excited before they even entered the house. That crying kitten was the smallest little orange furball I've ever seen. I was instantly in love. He had a little bowtie on him and a heart shaped name collar. Trying to read the name tag while the kitten squirmed around in my arms was like a wrestling match. I was finally able to read the name tag and it said "Barthelomew Webb." We are obsessed with the tv show, The Flash, whose main characters name is that of Barthelomew aka Barry aka The Flash. When done reading the name Michael asked if I saw both sides of the name tag and I told him no I was having a hard time reading just the one. Well Michael helped wrangle Barry still enough so I could read the other side and the other side read "Will you marry my daddy?" I think my heart dropped in that moment and I stepped back with my hand over my mouth and Barry clawing around on my shoulder as Michael then got on one knee and proposed to me. An absolute dream come true, a kitten and ring. I was bawling crying, like super ugly crying in complete shock but completely happy. Who would of guessed that Michael was capable of keeping a secret for the best surprise of my life. Definitely not me.
