10.24.12 - The First Day 07.07.19 - The Yes Day 09.19.21 - The Best Day
We had eaten dinner together, sat on opposite sides of the pool ... counting how long Jake could hold his breath underwater, and played endless games of baseball in the yard, long before we had ever even spoken a word to each other. Jake would insist that Chris was his best friend and would demand that I marry him someday. On a camping trip in Plymouth on 10.6.2012, Chris showed up and it was the first time we really talked. We spent the whole night sitting out by the fire talking. We went on our first real date 18 days later. (So technically, this is all Jakes fault 😆)
After many failed attempts at extravagant proposals for almost 2 weeks ... Disney, ferris wheels, fireworks, the Fourth of July... We went to get ice cream (because it makes me and Jake equally happy) and take a walk by the water. We spent a lot of the time talking (or arguing) about everything we had done in our years together and what was left (so smooth 😉) I turned around and he was on his knee, ring in hand. * Jakes version of the story is much better than this *
