They grew up in Anderson Township. Griffin lived on one side of the township, while Kellie the other. They lived separate lives, but they learned that they had close degrees of separation throughout life including attending Anderson High School together for a year, knowing each other’s siblings, his friend's mom babysat her as a child, and Griffin partied at Kellie’s house when her dog watcher invited guests over without the Farrar’s knowledge. However, their story started January 4th, 2020. They were both enjoying a friend's band performing. Griffin spent his time listening to the music and interacting with friends, while Kellie felt as though she was in a movie. She saw Griffin from across the room. The lights had shown on him and for a split second he seemed like the only one there. She said out loud “I want that one” and kept her eye on him as the night passed. When the music stopped they got a chance to talk. Their conversation was about Santa Con that happened weeks prior. Kellie talked about attending with her brother unknowing that Griffin had hung out with him at that event. Their talking was brief, but it was the start of their story. Not their love story though, as moments later Kellie forgot his name and left the bar shortly after. Now June 12 2020. The world had shut down for what they thought was only going to be a couple weeks.The Farrar’s Buffalo Bar was shut down, but there were still kegs to be drunk. The kegs were brought to a college home. Kellie’s heart skipped a beat when she saw the boy whose name she couldn’t remember and Griffin was happy to see multiple kegs in the backyard. They had brief conversations that night and Griffin snuck into one of her photos. Griffin started to show some interest in her but he left early because he actually had work the next day. When the opportunity was thought lost, Kellie was able to see Bryce texting him (remember the friend's mom that babysat her- He’s that friend). She told Bryce to send Griffin her number and he did also including “Good luck texting Adam’s sister”. Their texting was short, because his interest in her was actually his worry about lost sunglasses. Luckily for Kellie, Griffin was interested in the Perry Park property the Farrar’s owned. She was able to invite him and 10 others down for a fun weekend. Kellie thought this would be a perfect opportunity to impress Griffin. She did, however it was because “she was cool to invite him as Adam's older sister”. Kellie didn’t lose hope though. She made sure they were at the same events. They were able to see each other at house parties, game nights, socially distanced bars, and canoeing. It wasn’t until July 24th, when their love story started. Kellie threw a party at her house when her mother was out of town. Griffin and her talked throughout the night but the best talk was when they were sitting on the front porch. Some details will be left out, but this was when their love story (mostly) started-As she had a flight to her Meema's in Florida the next day. But finally on August 4th, 2020 they had their official first date. She picked the drive-in movie, since the world was still shut down. It was a weekday, so Spaceballs and Blades of Saddles were playing. They talked through both movies telling getting to know you stories and laughed at how the parking lot quickly emptied when Blades of Saddles started. Although there were awkward times during the date, it felt natural to be around each other (almost like Kellie had picked him from a crowd). From that day on, they hung out with each other almost daily. They golfed, had game nights, dinners and many new adventures together. Then on 10/11/2020, while in Mammoth Cave, Kellie finally got what she wanted and Griffin made her his girlfriend. Now four years later, their love story has flourished into a beautiful life together. They’ve made many memories together, have found more degrees of separations, and are excited for what’s next to come.
