How We Met

First Comes Bumble, Then Comes Marriage.

Adam & I met on Bumble during COVID (boredom clearly brought us together). We both had somewhat recently gotten out of relationships & were unsure of what we were searching for. Now, when we talk about it, he claims he had second thoughts about messaging me back because he had given up on dating apps & basically dating altogether. Every day I thank God he had just a little more hope for me. After weeks of messaging & texting, I finally gave into meeting him (I really fought it at first). Since it was COVID, we couldn't go on a "normal" date to a restaurant, so Adam got creative. He took me to Minneopa Falls & then Minnemishinona Falls. We walked, talked, & got to know each other. Ever since, we have been inseparable. Meeting during COVID was such a blessing for Adam and I because it allowed us to be together whenever we wanted. We were both working from home and able to do it from wherever we wanted to.

+ The Proposal:

August 1st, 2020

About 4 months in to our relationship, Adam planned a lunch with his grandma. Since his grandma lives in Belle Plaine (1/2 way to Mankato), we decided to go visit his friend Jake afterwards. Adam said we needed to stop at Jake's so he could quick help him with something (which I later found out the real reason -- Adam had to get the ring from Jake) & then we were going to go to Minnemishinona Falls because the "water levels were super high" (yeah, ok, I don't care but I'm down for whatever). On the way there I mentioned we were going to the place where we had our first date and he acted like he had no idea & I was like "seriously you don't remember?!" I was actually kind of mad. (haha!). When we got to the falls Jake said we should climb down by the waterfall to get a picture. As we were posing to take the picture, Adam got down on one knee & proposed. The way I tell the story & the way he tells the story are completely different. You would have to ask him for his version. All I know is there were a few pep talks from Jake. At the time, I was completely surprised & never saw it coming. However, thinking back to the morning of, there were a lot of off behaviors from Adam (little nervous eh?). For example, he encouraged me to get fully ready to go to lunch with his grandma and he usually says the exact opposite. My favorite one was he had his hand on my knee while we were driving to the falls & when I grabbed his hand, it was extremely clammy. I asked why his hands were so clammy & his response was something super random. Clearly now I realize it was because he was nervous. My favorite part of the entire proposal was the thought Adam put in to who I would want to celebrate my engagement with after I said "yes!". He planned (with a lot of help from Melbye) to go up to my sisters to celebrate. My brother-in-law, mom & RJ were there & it was honestly the best celebration. I was surrounded by everyone (that could be there) I love the most in this world.

For all the days along the way
