How Our Love Began

In the eighth grade is where our love story really began. We have went to the same school together ever since kindergarten. We graduated from the same high school and will soon graduate from the same college in May 2025. Before we started "dating" for the first time in eighth grade, we never really talked or hung out with one another. The only time we talked is if we were paired up together in class. I can remember the day when Griffen asked me to be his girlfriend. We were both in the publications class, which was the class where we got to design the yearbook. There was about 15 minutes until the bell would ring for us to be released for the day to go home. One of our mutual friends at the time told me to go and check the front pocket of my backpack, which I thought was a little weird, but I did anyway. To my surprise there was a little piece of paper sitting in the pocket that said "Will you go out with me?" in Griffen's handwriting. As the shy eighth grade girl I was, I said yes because I really didn't know what else to say. I also didn't want to hurt his feelings. Little did I know that me saying yes so many years ago to a boy I didn't really know would be the man that I would be marrying! Funny thing is I still have that little note that Griffen wrote 7 years ago. We started high school together, went to every Christmas dance with one another, survived COVID, and even made it through college with each other by our side. I never imagined this day would be here so soon. I always thought we would be getting married several years after graduating from college, not 4 months after, but we could not be more excited! What I thought was a normal spring break vacation to Daytona, turned into a spring break trip that I will talk about for years. Family photos resulted in marrying the man of my dreams! We have been through some ups and downs, but have made one another stronger than before! Now after almost 8 years, we are tying the knot and saying "I Do"!
