I had joined cross country late into summer practice. I'd just gotten off my 9-5 and was dropped off next to Coach Reyna's truck. Running towards me was Aiden. His hair was flowing through the wind like a gorgeous supermodel. He made it to the truck for some water and started talking to me. He told me his hair was always in his face and that he needed to invest in some hair ties. Now, being the over-prepared, anxious packer that I am, I pulled out a bag of scrunchies I brought in the hopes I'd make friends with the girls. I've never heard of a girl getting a husband with one, but here we are. After he picked out a scrunchie, I offered to tie his hair back. The only problem is that Aiden is 6ft tall. So I climbed onto the truckbed (accidentally kicking Dylan, who was sitting on the tailgate, in the chest.... sorry), and tied up his sweaty mop of hair. Afterwards, we ran together, stretched together, and lifted together. I went to both the morning and afternoon practices, and after a while, Aiden started coming in the mornings too. We spent the entire summer running after one another, losing a couple of scrunchies to him in the process, and we fell in love. Sometimes love feels exactly like running, always putting one foot in front of the other. Easy and just right. xoxo, the bride
