After almost eleven wonderful years together (yes - eleven!), we have built a cozy life and filled our home with all the things we need (and then some). Instead of a traditional registry, we are saving for something special - a home to call our own. If you would like to contribute, a little help toward our down payment would mean the world to us. Of course, your love and laughter on our big day is the greatest gift of all. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
Yes - definitely use sunscreen! At higher altitudes, UV rays are much stronger, and you can burn faster even if it’s cloudy or cool. We recommend applying (and reapplying) sunscreen, wearing sunglasses, and maybe even a hat if you're planning to be outside for a while. Trust us, your skin will thank you!
Yep, it’s true! At higher elevations, the air has less oxygen, and that can make alcohol hit you a little harder (and faster) than you're used to. Please pace yourself, drink plenty of water, and be kind to your future self - especially if you're not used to mountain air. We want everyone to have fun and feel good the next day!
Some guests might feel mild symptoms of altitude sickness - like headaches, dizziness, fatigue, or shortness of breath - especially if you're coming from sea level. Don’t worry, it’s usually temporary! To help your body adjust, we recommend taking it easy the first day, drinking lots of water and electrolytes, avoiding too much alcohol, and getting plenty of rest. If you’re feeling the effects, there are a few helpful options: you can buy small cans of oxygen (yes, air in a can is a real thing!) at most local convenience or outdoor stores, or even rent an oxygen tank if needed. If you're concerned, talk to your doctor before the trip - some people benefit from altitude medication as a precaution.
Mountain weather can be a little unpredictable - sunny and warm one moment, then cool and breezy the next. Even in summer, temperatures can drop quickly in the late afternoon and evening. We recommend bringing layers (think: a light jacket, shawl, or sweater). You can expect highs of 65- 75 degrees, and lows of 40-50 degrees.
