Bride and Groom
Like many modern love stories, ours started on Hinge — and with tacos and beer (more like Diet Pepsi for John and a margarita for Gretchen) at Tacos Community Beer for our first date. From the beginning, conversation came effortlessly. We quickly realized how much we had in common, and after that first date, it felt pretty clear to both of us that this was something special. Somewhere along the way, we discovered our shared love of Christmas, and that’s when things started to feel especially serious. Between holiday traditions, Christmas music, and an unhealthy amount of excitement for December, we realized we had truly found our person. Our proposal story is very “us.” Weeks before December 13th, John randomly asked if I wanted to go pick out our Christmas tree that day — immediately suspicious since he rarely plans anything in advance. I became convinced he was proposing, told everyone I knew, and then spent the next month being aggressively convinced otherwise by both John and everyone around me. When the day finally came, we walked past a tree with a giant bow on it that I completely ignored until John pointed it out. I finally saw the sign that said, “Will you marry me?” and burst into tears because somehow I both knew it was happening and had convinced myself it wasn’t. Now we can’t wait to celebrate our Christmas wedding with all of the people we love most.

In a storyline straight out of Step Brothers, local dogs Beanz and Shadow are preparing to become official stepbrothers following their humans’ upcoming wedding. Beanz, described as “over-the-top obsessed,” has adored Shadow from the start, constantly initiating playtime and general chaos. Shadow, while fond of Beanz, has made it clear he does not intend to share the spotlight. Sources report that while the two get along well, tensions may arise when it comes to attention, treats, and prime lounging locations. The boys expect this “shindig” to include treats, zoomies, and at least one dramatic “Did we just become best friends?” moment, followed immediately by Shadow reclaiming center stage.
