The Astoria Column
The Column is a classic Astoria must do. You can either drive up to the base or hike up Cathedral Tree trail and take in views of the Columbia River. There is a gift shop where visitors can purchase small airplanes to fly off the top of the column, or look for some in nearby bushes to reuse and save a buck ;)

Cape Disappointment State Park
Drive over the the bridge and into Washington to see this beautiful parks with secret beaches and lighthouses!
Wreck of the Peter Iredale
The remains of the 1906 Peter Iredale shipwreck await at Fort Stevens State Park.

Enjoy a yummy cup of coffee or tea while overlooking the gorgeous Columbia River.
Oswald West State Park
Be sure to head down the coast for this amazing park near Cannon beach. Expect classic Oregon forests and coastal views! If you have time for a hike, Neahkahnie Mountain is a great option to stretch the legs :)
Hug Point State Recreation Site
A childhood favorite for beach trips. Plan on going at low tide to walk around the point and over an old highway that's carved into the rocky shores of this beautiful beach!

Astoria Riverwalk
Great for a stroll or run with views of Astoria and the Columbia River. There are shops, restaurants, pubs, and wildlife viewing along the way. Be sure to check out the sea lions on the docks at the east end mooring basin!
Saddle Mountain
This is a steep 4.5 mile hike, but worth the climb. This was a family favorite growing up!
