Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS)

Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS) is the largest airport in Portugal. There are direct flights from major hubs on TAP Air Portugal, United, Delta and American. Travel credit card points are also a great option to use when booking flights! Once in Europe flights are more affordable so don't be afraid to look into flights to different countries in Europe and you can fly to Lisbon from there! Transportation

The venue is in Sintra, a beautiful and quaint town about 30 minutes outside of Lisbon. We want to provide as many options as possible with accommodations depending on what our guests are looking for in their stay. More details on our "FAQ" tab on where to stay. We recommend staying in Lisbon on Thursday night and moving up to Sintra on Friday for the weekend! We will provide transportation to pick up and drop off everyone at a central point in Sintra and Lisbon. Uber and trains are also a popular and affordable option around Lisbon area for those looking to do more exploring.

Where to Stay

Sintra: Sintra is a beautiful, quaint, fairytale-like town located in the rolling hills west of Lisbon. It has many palaces scattered around which can be toured and explored as well as cute restaurants and shops. It is a quiet town with minimal nightlife, but gorgeous views. The Wedding Celebration Saturday will take place at Quinta da Bella Vista which is tucked away within Sintra. If you choose to stay in Sintra on Friday and Saturday night to be closer to the festivities, we recommend you stay at the Hotel NH Sintra Centro to be walking distance from the town, Penha Longa or Tivoli Palácio de Seteais for a more resort style experience, or an Airbnb. If you are getting to town before the wedding we recommend a few days in Lisbon before you move up to Sintra as it is a small neighborhood and a couple of days in Sintra is plenty. We will have transportation for pick up and drop off at a central point in Sintra on the wedding night. Lisbon: Lisbon is a major city with lots to see and do and plenty of nightlife. We will have buses organized to and from a central point in Lisbon (approximately 35 min. ride) to the venue on Saturday for guests who are staying in the city. We have put the hotels we would recommend under the "Travel" tab but feel free to book a hotel/airbnb within your budget but we recommend staying in the Principe Real neighborhood. Cascais: If you are looking for more of a beach stay rather than a city stay, Cascais is calling your name! Cascais is a seaside town outside of Lisbon and is about 30 minutes from the venue in Sintra and a 30 minute drive to the welcome party. It is more of a relaxed vibe with plenty of hotels and restaurants.

Penha Longa is beautiful Marriott resort located in Sintra. The resort includes a 27-hole golf course ranked as one of the top 30 courses in Europe, multiple restaurants, pools, and activities. The resort is not walking distance from the Sintra town or palaces, but if you are looking for a spot to rest and relax in Sintra then this is the perfect place! This resort also allows the use of Marriott points for booking.
