FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Once you received a formal invitation please RSVP by May 21st—or as soon as possible—to allow us to accurately plan for our wedding catering.

Question

What COVID-19 Protocols are in place?

Answer

In light of the present pandemic we want people to feel as safe as possible attending our wedding. In consideration of all attending the wedding, Gretchen and I ask that guests strongly consider going through the process of getting vaccinated against COVID-19 if they are eligible. Alternatively, please consider getting a COVID Test prior to traveling. Please bring a mask to be worn in scenarios where it is not possible to socially distance.

Question

What should I wear to the Wedding?

Answer

Cocktail Attire

Question

What is the weather like in Government Camp in July?

Answer

July is one of the driest months of weather on Mt. Hood, averaging only 4 days with precipitation. Average temperatures peak around 70°F during the day and drop to around 45°F at night with low humidity, so plan on pleasant weather during your stay.

Question

How will get to and from the Wedding/Reception?

Answer

Mt. Hood Ski Bowl will offer a free shuttle service to and from the venue for guests leaving from Best Western, Collin's Lake Resort/Grand Lodges.

Question

Where is the Ceremony and Reception?

Answer

The Ceremony will take place next to the historic warming hut at the top of the main chair lift at Ski Bowl Resort. Guest will ride the chair lift up to the ceremony site (Elderly guests and children under 3 may take a shuttle in lieu of chair lift transportation) and will return to the base lodge for the reception by ski lift or alpine slide.

Question

How early should I arrive to the venue for the wedding reception?

Answer

Be sure to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the wedding ceremony start time to allow time for you to take the ski lift (or shuttle) up to the ceremony site.

Question

Will the Wedding take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The entirety of the wedding will take place outdoors. The Ceremony will be fully exposed to the elements, so prepare accordingly. The Reception will take place under a large, open air tent outdoors.

Question

What kind of activities are there to do around Mt. Hood?

Answer

Mt. Hood has many outdoor offerings. Reference the "things to do" tab for some of our favorites in the area. Most activities involve hiking, so be sure to pack a pair of sturdy shoes, athletic clothes, a water bottle, and a backpack so you can enjoy the area trails. If you're willing to travel 45 minutes north towards the city of Hood River there are many opportunities for wildflower picking (particularly lavender), fruit picking, and wine tasting from area farms and vineyards.
