We are a couple of the modern age - meeting on the dating app Hinge. The app provides prompts for people to respond to in order to break the ice and start a conversation. Matt responded to my serious, thought provoking prompt: "Which is more important to you: Justin Bieber or Post Malone?" His answer? Post Malone! From that started a conversation that ended up with our first date - dinner at Centro and a beer at Indeed Brewery in Northeast Minneapolis. Some laughs, good conversation, and excellent company led to our next date - and the one after - and the one after that - and the rest is history!

There are so many shared hobbies and interests we have - our love of reading, animals, cooking, trying new restaurants, traveling, exercise, and spending time with our friends and family. Weekend mornings often consist of relaxing with a cup of coffee and our cat, Esmerelda, curled up in our laps. We both love our quality time together and all the experiences and memories we share and continue making along the way.

Early on in our relationship, we talked about our desire to get married. We had numerous conversations in our two years of dating around the perfect engagement, rings, wedding, etc! We had picked out the engagement ring in September 2024, and there was talk of a spring/summer engagement, so it was not a surprise but it was an amazing day. About a week or two before, I had mentioned to Matt that the coming Saturday I had plans with a friend. The look on his face kind of gave it away for me, and he said he was planning a date night in Northeast Minneapolis. Knowing Matt the way I do, I know typically he would not plan that far in advance for a casual date night, so I knew something was coming! My sister was in disguise and was able to capture pictures of the proposal at Nicollet Island. After we got engaged, we called Matt's family who lives out of town, and celebrated with my family at Aster Cafe and Nye's Bar. It was an amazing day and night!
