We originally met after a LGBTQ+ meeting at Western Carolina University. Once I laid eyes on that punk-rock bad boy, I knew I had to be in his life. For the next two years we met up, got coffee, texted. Nothing out of the ordinary for friends. Then as fall began to change the leaves in the mountains of western North Carolina, I found myself growing more and more attached to this wonderful human I had come to know. We met up one night to watch a movie at my place (The Exorcist to be specific, quite the romantic pick). We ate cookies, laughed, and kissed for the first time. I found myself in a monsoon of emotions I had never felt before. On October 3rd, Ian and I decided to go with some friends to Asheville pride. We were promptly rained out. We took the long journey back to his apartment, and as I sat on his futon warming up he popped the question. Well... not THE question. He asked "How does October 3rd work for you?" "...For what?" I asked. "You know, for an anniversary." Now here we are. Six years, three apartments, and two cats later and still very much enamored with one another. Ian and I now invite all of you to come celebrate with us as we start the beginning of a life long journey filled with laughter, joy, fun, and love!
