Due to the size of the venue, we’re only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation.
Unfortunately due to the capacity of the venues, we have to keep our ceremony and reception to an adults-only event.
Yes! Every vehicle that enters the park requires a park permit. If you don’t already have one, please let the park employee at the kiosk know that you’re there for the Gregory-Thorsness wedding and they’ll add you to our tab! (Note: Annual permits are $35 and give you access to all Nebraska state parks — Platte River, Mahoney, Ponca, etc. If it’s in your budget and you enjoy nature, it’s worth the investment!)
Because our event takes place in a state park, we do not have any hotel blocks reserved. The park is about a half hour away from both Lincoln and Omaha — fairly close for locals who plan to head home after the reception as well as for out-of-towners looking for a nearby hotel. If you’d like a recommendation, please reach out to Leah!
There is a parking lot at the Mallet Lodge, which is where the reception will be held, as well as a couple of parking spots near the outdoor amphitheater. We ask that you park at Mallet and walk to the ceremony (it's about a block) so that the parking spots near the amphitheater can be utilized by anyone with mobility issues.
Casual cocktail! Think fun party dresses, slacks with button-ups, a jumpsuit or romper — whatever makes you feel cute, comfy, and ready to party.
Nebraska weather in October is admittedly a crapshoot — we all remember the Halloween with a foot of snow, right? — but the past few years, things have been very comfortable in late October! We’re crossing our fingers for some sunshine and temps in the 60s, but please keep an eye on the forecast as you plan your outfit. (And we promise to keep the outdoor ceremony short!)
Yes! We’ll have beer, wine, and a limited selection of spirits available. Please bring cash for tips if you would like!
Unfortunately, yes! State park guidelines require that events end by 9 and are cleaned up and shut down by 10. But don’t worry, we’ll still have fun — and there are always after-parties!
