October 2024 When we tell people we're both professional classically-trained musicians, they express surprise. When we tell them we met on stage, they express delight. It's not unusual for relationships to blossom between musicians, but it is somewhat unusual for a harpist and pianist to find themselves on the same stage. Because the two instruments serve such a similar musical function, they are seldom paired together in the same program. And in the midst of this improbable musical overlap, each of them was focused on very different things. While Tyler was concentrating on subdividing her quarter note triplets, Greg was plotting an opening move. Two weeks later on their second date, Greg and Tyler were politely kicked out of 1920 Tavern after four hours of conversation, laughs, and gratuitous eye contact. In the months that followed, Tyler and Greg spent as much time together as possible. Greg bought a crate to keep at his house for Tyler's dogs; Tyler kept a keyboard at her house so Greg could practice when he stayed over. Spending more than two days apart didn't seem like a viable option. Bonding over live music continued to be a consistent theme- they attended many shows together over the seasons, and always gravitated towards restaurants or date nights that featured live musicians. In August 2025, they traveled to San Diego to see two of their favorite artists: Beck (with the San Diego Symphony!) and Rozwell Kid. While in San Diego, Greg proposed. ❤️ Tyler and Greg are currently living together in Roswell with Tyler’s two dogs Bonnie and Jojo, Greg’s two boys Roman and Xander, and about twelve musical instruments between them. Tyler teaches harp lessons and gigs on the weekends, and Greg pretends to do IT during the day and gigs on the weekends. They enjoy biking, reading, playing games, and seeing live music together.
