Rachael Wallace and Gregory Olsen’s story began in December 2020—right in the middle of a time when most people were staying home… but somehow, their worlds still managed to collide. Rachael was studying mechanical engineering at Grove City College, while Gregory was busy building his independent contracting career out in Colorado Springs. That winter, Rachael took a trip with her college friend Sarah Gann, expecting a fun getaway—but not expecting to meet her future fiancé. Gregory, an old friend of Sarah’s, stopped by to visit, and the two instantly clicked. What started as casual conversation quickly turned into constant texting, long phone calls, and a long-distance “friendship” that was clearly becoming something more. In the summer of 2021, Gregory invited Rachael to Colorado. His plan? Have her help build a retaining wall at his mom’s house. (Nothing says romance like manual labor.) Surprisingly, it worked. Somewhere between the sweat, dirt, and mountain views, their relationship took off. On July 17, 2021, Gregory brought Rachael to the top of Bishop Castle and asked her to be his girlfriend—proving he can be romantic when he wants to be. Of course, long-distance wasn’t always easy. After plenty of miles, FaceTime calls, and countdowns to visits, Gregory made a big move—literally. In August 2022, he packed up and moved to Pennsylvania to give their relationship a real shot. Fast forward to 2025: Rachael had graduated, launched her career, and Gregory had firmly established his contracting business in the Pittsburgh area. On December 19, Gregory took Rachael to Mount Davis—the highest point in Pennsylvania (which Gregory will remind you is still lower than Colorado’s lowest point). There, he asked Rachael to marry him. This time, there was no long-distance delay—she said yes right away. PLEASE NOTE: At our wedding, we have so many people we love and want to share our special day with. To ensure we remain at venue capacity, we ask that the wedding is child-free.
