Nae’s version: I remember like it was yesterday. We met on a Saturday. Greg’s niece and my dear friend, Valerie, invited us both to her daughter’s first birthday party at her home in Virginia. There was fun, laughter…and ok a little bit of alcohol. We noticed each other and had great conversation but of course we both played it cool. Since he couldn’t get me off his mind, the next day Val played cupid and asked if she could share my number with her uncle. I actually said no (almost missed out on this blessing y’all). After a little convincing, I agreed and here we are. He has a slightly different version but this is the truth and nothing but the truth. You’re welcome honey, love you ☺️
Greg’s version: In the words of Jay-Z, “We broke up and got back together. To get her back I had to sweat her”, not exactly though. You all know by now that there was a slight hiatus. I reached out to Nae during the onset of the pandemic just to see how she and the family were doing. Marriage was not on my mind but this time around she pursued me (and why not? Im a catch). To my surprise, our relationship quickly blossomed. She shared with me that she prayed for us, even in my absence, and that she felt God brought us back together. That’s when I knew she was my future. I proposed on Christmas Day in the presence of her father, daughter and close friends. I bought her a new jacket to replace her favorite one from Costco. This woman loves her some Costco and I hated this jacket. She was a little confused because I’m not one for Christmas gifts. She turned around so I could help her put on her new jacket and when she turned back around to me, I was on one knee. She said yes and now 12/25 is a day that will forever be special to the BOTH of us. The jacket had to go. Love you, babe.
A note from us, to you: It means the world to us to have you join us…IN A FEW WEEKS! The original plan was to elope but we decided to have a small intimate celebration to share our union. We know that the decision to travel and attend any event during this time may not have been easy for some. Thank you for the continual support, encouragement, spiritial covering, love, laughter and richness you pour into our lives. Greg & Nadine
