Gregory and Meagan went to high school together, but if you had asked them about one another before they met, they probably couldn't have told you much. They hung around with many of the same friends and circle, but just never really met each other. After Meagan went away for college and lived all over the US, she returned to Vermont in late 2015. In early 2016, she decided to join an online dating page just for giggles, and one day in mid-January 2016, she got a message from Greg! The name and face looked so familiar, that she decided to look on Facebook for the person and lo and behold, they had 75+ mutual Facebook friends! She immediately messaged him back and they went on their first date a week or so later. They were almost instantly inseparable and were "official" 3-weeks later. When Greg and Meagan celebrated their 3-year anniversary on February 15, 2019 everything changed! Greg planned a beautiful proposal and then took Meagan back to that same spot where they had their first date - Sheri's Place in Springfield, VT - to meet all of their friends and family for a celebration!
For their 3rd anniversary, Greg took Meagan to a new restaurant in town - the Copper Fox - for a 6:30pm reservation. During this time, they had a bottle of wine and an appetizer and just sat and chatted about things and how much they loved each other. Meagan had a sneaking suspicion that something was happening that night, but Greg quickly but the kibosh on it by explaining to Meagan that he wished he could propose to her that night, but it just wasn't in the budget at the time. Meagan texted her best friend, Tessa, and another friend, Matt letting them know that her suspicions were without warrant and that it wasn't happening tonight. They both reassured her that it would happen when it was meant to. Meanwhile, Tessa and her husband Zack were across the street from the restaurant with other friends Christy Wendlant and Brendon Thomas (local musician) setting up the most beautiful scene possible. By 8:30pm, their dinner still hadn't arrived. So, Greg got up to ask the waiter to pack up their meals because they had somewhere to be. With dinner packed, Greg walked Meagan across the street to a candlelit cove under the town library where Brendon played their song (All My Lovin' by The Beatles) and Greg got down on one knee and presented the most beautiful ring. Tessa and Zack video taped the entire event and they went back to their first date spot to celebrate with friends and family!
