The time was Covid, Mo had just turned 30, and it was decided that the time had come to create a Hinge profile. She was loving San Diego so much and thought where better to find a partner; without much a thought, a max distance of 30 miles was set and the swiping began. A quick “Hi! 😍” got sent to Greg C. and plans were made for live music over a bite and drinks in Encinitas; Mo's second try at meeting one of the online suitors. Taking in the tunes from Shane Hall, we bonded over our hometowns, which had snow, going to the same hockey tournament as kids, sailing and lacrosse accolades, and “finding ourselves” as sun lovers embracing all that SoCal has to offer. One date became two and by date three the competitions began! Our ping pong matches and card games were heated to say the least. As always, Mo’s warmth and welcoming attitude always drew a crowd, surrounding us with friends while Greg's infectious smile just kept getting bigger and bigger. As we began to travel together, to Detroit, Toronto, Telluride, Chicago, New York, Big Sur, Mexico, New Orleans, and North Carolina, like became love as our common values and love for family became more and more apparent. Sharing a competitive spirit as we continue to practice our surfing and tennis skills has only shown us how much more fun life and our passions, are together. Greg is teaching Maura the joy of a good cappuccino, a little cooking, and what all the numbers and code mean on his laptop. Mo is teaching Greg the art of saying yes to everything, how to wear SPF, and the trials and tribulations of being a NICU nurse - especially in making the most of “mini retirements” between contracts! We’re looking forward to continuing this journey and making many more memories together. We hope to make our first home in San Diego (without the 29.7 miles of separation!!!), but plan to travel and see more States together on Mo’s travel gigs, growing our love more and more every day, and getting those stipends!
