Dominique and Greg met September 21, 2018. It was a warm Friday evening at one of their favorite restaurants called Barcelona. They had been communicating via social media/text for a couple weeks after a mutual associate connected them. They were both in the same field and had been chatting largely about professional aspirations. Greg had casually mentioned Dominique should let him know when she would be in town and that they should chat as “He would love to hear more of her ideas.” With all this being said, It wasn’t clear to Dominique if their first encounter was a “date” or more of a casual meet up amongst two professionals trying to extend their network. But little did she know, Greg had intended it to be a date all along. It was clear early into their time at the restaurant that it was definitely a DATE and there was definitely a SPARK. 6 hours later, after appetizers, dinner, and drinks at another lounge called, The Patterson House, they hugged goodbye and both drove away on cloud nine. Later, Dominique told her associate how well things had gone and she said that she felt God told her that we’d be good together and that she was just being obedient to God by connecting us. They were inseparable after this and fell in love soon after.
On Christmas Day 2019, Greg asked Dominique for her hand in marriage in an intimate setting at home with her grandma, mom, father, and brother present. She said yes emphatically and this sealed the deal.
As many of you know, COVID changed our plans to wed in South Africa. Due to this Greg and I eloped in an intimate ceremony with close family in Nashville May 23, 2020. However, we didn't want to lose the opportunity to celebrate our union more traditionally with close family and friends. We are excited for this next chapter in our lives and feel so blessed to share this special occasion with close family and friends in the music city, Nashville, TN!
