The Wedding Website of Caitlin Murphy and Gregory Parker
Here is some information on getting to the Vineyard and where to stay for our guests. We have listed a few hotel recommendations below however, please note that there are many others! As September is a popular month for weddings on the Vineyard we strongly recommend booking your accommodations and/or car reservations as soon as possible!

Travel Note

Steamship Authority

If you are planning to take the ferry from Massachusetts, the Steamship Authority has several boats that run daily from Woods Hole to either Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs. If you are planning to bring a car, the Steamship Authority is the way to go. I would strongly suggest booking a reservation for your vehicle early as they do tend to book up, especially on weekends. If you are not bringing a car over, you can park in the Steamship Authority Lot and take their shuttle to the boat dock.

Travel Note

The Island Queen

Another ferry option is the Island Queen that leaves from Falmouth, MA and goes into Oak Bluffs. This boat does not take cars and has a more limited schedule, but you can park in their lot and walk just down the street to the boat dock. Please note the parking lot for the Island Queen is cash only!

Hotel

The Kelley House

Located right in downtown Edgartown. It is within walking distance from both the ceremony and reception.

Hotel

The Harborview Hotel

Beautiful hotel located right across from Edgartown Lighthouse. It is also within walking distance from both the reception and ceremony.

Hotel

The Clarion Inn

The Clarion Inn is located just outside of downtown Edgartown. It is still walking distance to both the reception and ceremony (about 7-10 minute walk).

Hotel

Summer Camp

Summer Camp is a great hotel located right near the harbor in Oak Bluffs. It is walking distance from both the Steamship and the Island Queen. Although the ceremony and reception are taking place in Edgartown, you would only be a 10 minute cab ride or Uber away!

House Or Rental

House Rentals

Unfortunately most hotels on the Vineyard do not offer discount rates for room blocks. Therefore, if you are traveling with a group or simply looking for more affordable accommodations, we would strongly recommend renting a house or room through Airbnb, Homeaway, or VRBO. Again, we would recommend booking early.

Travel Note

Getting Around the Island

Once you are on the Vineyard, if you do not plan to bring a car, there are several options for getting around. The Martha's Vineyard Transit Authority has a bus system that is very convenient and affordable. The number 13 bus travels between the three main towns of Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven, and Edgartown. This is a great option if you take the ferry into either Oak Bluffs or Vineyard Haven as there are bus stops located right next to each ferry office and the buses leave every half hour. There are also several cab companies including Adam Cab, Lighthouse Taxi, Stagecoach Taxi, and Martha's Vineyard Taxi. These companies typically have cabs parked and waiting near the ferry docks as the boats come in. And finally there is always Uber or Lyft!
